Breast cancer is a complicated disease. There are several different causes of this medical condition and we must all strive to prevent the type of lifestyle that may lead to getting a tumor in our breast or any other part of our body.

First of all, it is vital to have a healthy diet. The antioxidants found in fresh fruits and vegetables can go a long way to getting rid of harmful substances in our body and preventing the formation of cancers. For example, it is a good idea to make sure to eat an apple or banana with your cereal in the morning. Next, cutting up a few tomatoes or making a salad to go along with your chicken sandwich can make the perfect lunch. And for dinner, there is nothing more delicious than frying up some carrots and Brussels sprouts to go along with some rice and lamb or maybe salmon.

When it comes to exercise, even a small amount can go a long way to preventing cancer. At the end of your work day, make sure to go for a half hour walk. On weekends, spend some time hiking near a lake or take up a sport. Now that the winter is coming, some people enjoy ice skating, skiing or even snowboarding.

Along with these tips, there are certain things to avoid in pursuit of staying healthy. Smoking cigarettes, for instance, has been directly linked with lung cancer, bladder cancer and even blindness. Also, alcohol intake must be moderate to keep from having liver problems, breast cancer and other potential health issues.

Now, it is time for our female readers to listen up – oral contraceptives have been labeled as carcinogens by the World Health Organization (WHO). To truly keep healthy and avoid disease, women are advised to speak with their doctors about alternative birth control options, as these particular pills may cause cancer. Also, it’s important to remember to avoid Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which has also been linked with breast cancer.

Women across the world are advised to follow these tips and seek the help of their primary care doctor for any and all health issues.
