COLUMBIA SOUTH CAROLINA AREA HARDEE’S RESTAURANTS
SET TO HOST “TOTAL ECLIPSE OF BREAST CANCER” FUNDRAISER
BLD Brands Donating 10 Percent of Sales to Support Breast Health & Healing Foundation
Everyone Invited to Visit Columbia, SC-Area Hardee’s Restaurants on Monday, August 21st
COLUMBIA, S.C. – As the attention of the country turns to the sky on Monday, August 21st, to witness the Great American Eclipse, BLD Brands – an independently-owned franchisee of 19 Columbia, South Carolina-area Hardee’s Restaurants – is partnering with the Breast Health and Healing Foundation to help create a “Total Eclipse of Breast Cancer” and raise funds for establishing clinical trials of the world’s first preventive vaccine for breast cancer.
BLD Brands Principal and CEO Doug Pak today announced that 10 percent of the sales from all 19 of his Columbia-area Hardee’s Restaurants on Monday, August 21st will be donated to help raise funds for the Breast Health and Healing Foundation – a non-profit, 501c3 dedicated to fulfilling its mission “to understand the specific causes of breast cancer and to use that knowledge to prevent the disease.”
In bringing about the opportunity, Pak says he is personally affected by the cause, as his mother is currently battling a brain tumor. It is his plan to sponsor additional fundraising opportunities to generate awareness and funding for the tumor virus research that studies now show may very well be the key to curing many other forms of cancer as well.
“On a day, in which a lot of us as family, friends, classmates and co-workers will gather together to witness something in our world that we likely won’t see again in this lifetime, what better way than to join with us and do something that could make a difference in our lives for generations to come,” said Pak.
Founded by Dr. Kathleen Ruddy, an internationally-recognized breast cancer surgeon, the Breast Health and Healing Foundation is continuing in its advocacy of breakthrough research on the human breast cancer virus and the development of a preventive breast cancer vaccine.
“On behalf of the Breast Health and Healing Foundation, and as a Breast Cancer Surgeon, I am profoundly appreciative to partner with BLD Brands and Hardee’s Restaurants and we are grateful for the opportunity that this fundraiser will provide for establishing the clinical trials for developing the world’s first preventive vaccine for breast cancer,” said Ruddy.
